In the last week of doing the project is when most of the work was done. I actually started putting things together the other day and I was really happy with the way my exhibit board came out honestly. However it isn't as good as Rachel Ford's or Amanda Fernandez's weeblys. I chose their websites because they stand out the most when it comes to the way they look. Amanda did a really good job with the colors and I'm not surprised that she made something like this considering her artistic ability. My mom worked at Whataburger for a while so it has somewhat of a sentimental tug on me and c'mon! it's Whataburger! Everyone in Corpus knows what Whataburger is and it does have a lot of cultural significance here in this city and Amanda does a really good job at explaining that.
Now Rachel Ford's is really nice also because og her use of color and her topic. She did the statues in Corpus Christi and they are all ones that people who have lived in Corpus Christi can recognize quickly. Now the really big reason why I chose hers is because I respect Rachel very much as she also has so much artistic ability you can see it in everything she does...she oozes talent. One statue that really caught my eye though was the "Wind in the Sails" one. That one is apparently done by a man named Kent Ullberg and the man is a genius. I looked him up because I really liked the statue and Rachel's blog said that it resembles his many other works, and I thought "Good! This thing is a piece of art!", and true it is! I'm going to be looking him up more frequently now because I really like this man's work. And the website is very well put together. It has a lot of information on the statues and what they mean and it's nothing less than what you would expect from Rachel.
