I had gone for a walk around my Grammas neighborhood and stopped by the old elementary school I went to and saw this at the front of the school. It's right where the entrance is, where the kids would be picked up after school. Because I was picked up behind the school (and eventually started walking home) I actually never saw it. I know that it was there and when we spoke about the American G. I. Forum in class I knew I heard (or read actually?) it somewhere. It gives a summary of how the American G. I. Forum started and why, and its nice that its at this school because the neighborhood is mostly old people from Mexico that had kids and grand-kids come to this school. I remember sitting in the front one time and looking at it but I never understood it and my friends could've given less of a hoot about it, but being older and having being taught about this makes me really appreciate it. (But I'm not too sure why it was put there exactly. I wonder if there were many Mexican-American veterans in this neighborhood?)
